25 April 1924: DIN (German Institute for Standardization) founded DIN Media together with VDI (Society of German Engineers). The Austrian Standards Institute (ASI) and the Swiss Association for Standardization (SNV) have been shareholders of DIN Media since 1993. DIN is the majority shareholder of DIN Media.
1988: DIN Software was founded together with VDA, VDMA and ZVEI with the aim of developing, maintaining and distributing a system-neutral standardized component database for CAD. Since that time, DIN Software has become a wholly-owned subsidiary of DIN whose task has been expanded to include support services for all the important databases of the DIN Group.
VDE Verlag is one of the most renowned technical publishing houses for electrical engineering in the German language world. The main focus of VDE Verlag is the production and sale of VDE Standards, IEC publications and technical books and journals.
